Documentary Films

Storyboards are great, but there is something beautiful about watching the process unfold naturally.

Overlook FARM
Overlook farm is a nonprofit based in Central Massachusetts. Their goal is food awareness and education. This film is a documentary on the history of the property, fundraising, and intentions of the group. We wanted to tug on the heart strings of donors, and get them to connect to a time in their lives where they may have visited a farm like this.
The brand is intended to be a textured representation of their mission: Hands on training that leads to food awareness and education. The shovel and cornstalk were paired in illustrator through an etching technique that also evokes a sense of nostalgia and history
The Glass Project

We were recently engaged to create documentary for a 4 story glass art installation in Cambridge. We joined forces with Urban Spaces, Boston Art and Paul Housberg of The Glass Project. Paul designed the installation at his studio in Jamestown Rhode Island, but the manufacturing took place at Bullseye Glass in Portland, OR. I made the trek out for four days to document the process. Here is a quick teaser and a peek behind the curtain of our process. The full documentary will wrap up in July after the piece is installed at 125 First Street.

Rowes Wharf Interactive Films
Over the last 10 months Rowes Wharf has been renovating their main lobbies in all three buildings. Ownership worked with Boston Art to select a variety of pieces that compliment not only the architecture but the nautical lifestyle that surrounds the buildings. We were engaged to create an immersive installation that gave a behind the scenes look into the process that the six artists go through to create their work.
The screens were predetermined by the architects as 80″ vertical displays. This presented challenges from filming standpoint as we’d be confined to a smaller piece of screen real estate. However, it opened some doors for the interactive. Users are greeted with an eye level interface where they can learn more about that particular artist and see their process. The interface was designed to compliment the physical art handing in the lobby and not to be distracting.
Slab City

The abandoned military installation in Southern California’s Sonoran Desert has long been inhabited by an eclectic group of artist and outlaws looking to drop off from mainstream society. They make art for the sake of making art…something I think every designer and visual artist longs for.
